Processing Information
The origins of many of the items and their history before arrival at the historical society are unknown.
Due to their common donor, items have been proccessed into the Shenandoah County Historical Society Collection. When possible, materials were retained in folders based on how materials were donated and with titles/dates associated with their original names.
In some instances, items were shelved or retained individually before being processed into the collection after its creation.
After creation of the collection, all items were transferred to clam shell document boxes, legal size excluding the oversize land grant and yearbooks. The land grant was placed in an oversize folder and stored in the fire proof safe. The yearbooks are stored as part of the yearbook collection.
