Mary Nelson Collection
Scope and Contents
The Mary Nelson Collection contains approximately 600 5x7-inch color photographs. The photographs document cemeteries within Shenandoah County, tombstones within the cemeteries, some churches where cemeteries are located, and sometimes surrounding communities.

This collection is open to researchers without restrictions. Researchers must register and agree to all copyright laws and archives policies before using the collection. Please contact the Shenandoah County Library before visiting to use this collection.

Photographs are in original order as donated and retain their original labels (in quotations).

Donated by Mary Nelson.
Processing Information
When donated, items were arranged in several packs of photographs wrapped in rubber bands. Rubber bands were removed and discarded. Title cards for each cemetery were also present and information was retained for sleeve titles. Photographs were placed in plastic sleeves and then in paper envelopes with a maximum of three sleeves per envelope.
